Are you a woman in the start-up phase of business? Face challenges and need a mentor? 


Female entrepreneurs are the fastest growing segment in the small business sector but continue to face unique challenges and obstacles. This program is designed to help you become a successful business owner through the delivery of industry leading workshops and access to experienced mentors to help you achieve your goals. Join the Women In Business Mentoring Program for Start-ups commencing September 2017 and improve your business success.


  • Own and operate a small business
  • In business for a minimum of six months and a maximum of 18 months
  • Committed to attend and participate in small group workshops and one-on-one mentoring

Program Objectives

  • Develop and clearly articulate your 30 second elevator pitch
  • Identify the problem and solution your product/service offers
  • Articulate how you will attract and retain your client base
  • Identify distribution channels relevant to your product/service
  • Identify your specific ideal customer and give a detailed description of that sector/s
  • Identify revenue streams and the pricing structure relevant to both, including relevant cost
  • Identify the key resources crucial to the successful operation of your business
  • Articulate how you will produce your product/service
  • Identify the key stakeholders (partners) relevant to the success of your business model

Program Components

The program runs over 12 weeks, caters for up to 15 participants and includes:

  • Five small group workshops
  • Five one-on-one mentoring sessions
  • Two business advisory sessions
  • Two networking events.


Five specialised small group workshops, tailored to respond to current and real business issues that affect you as a business owner. Topics include:

  • Customer Experience
  • Business Operations
  • Digital Marketing
  • Finance
  • Business innovation.


Participants will be matched to a mentor for five hours of one-on-one mentoring over the 12 week program. Mentoring offers the opportunity to discuss business-related issues you may be facing. Mentors are successful, local, female business owners specialising in areas such as finance, marketing, business development, management and digital engagement.


$550 – this subsidised fee is made possible through the generous support of our volunteer mentors and the Australian Small Business Advisory Service (ASBAS) programme.
