Information for Applicants

Are you a business owner/entrepreneur? Do you want to grow your business? Face challenges and need a mentor?

Female entrepreneurs are the fastest growing segment in the small business sector but continue to face unique challenges and obstacles. Our Women in Business (WiB) mentoring program is designed to help you become a successful business owner through the provision of industry leading workshops and access to experienced mentors from a range of disciplines to help you achieve your goals.

To participate in the WiB mentoring program you must be committed to making a difference in your business and;

  • Own and operate a full-time small business or are a key employee wanting to participate in improvements to the business
  • Be prepared to participate in small group workshops and one-on-one mentoring
  • Able to identify a business challenge you would like to address, or goal you would like to achieve
  • Be in business for a minimum of 12 months.

Program Objectives

  • Improve business management skills for small business owners/operators and managers
  • Identify and facilitate business growth strategies for small businesses
  • Provide opportunities for small business owners/managers to network and develop strategic alliances

Program Components

The program runs over 12 weeks, caters for up to 15 participants (numbers strictly limited) and comprises a mix of five small group workshops, five hours of one-on-one mentoring and networking opportunities.

Five specialised small group workshops, tailored to respond to current and real issues that affect you as a business owner. Topics include:

  • Digital engagement
  • Business innovation
  • Understanding financials
  • Marketing
  • Work/life balance

Participants will be matched to a mentor who we believe will be the best fit for your business. You will have five hours of one-on-one mentoring sessions with your mentor. How this is managed (e.g. face-to-face, Skype, phone, email) will be determined between yourself and your mentor. Mentoring offers you the opportunity to discuss any business-related issues you may be facing. Mentors are successful business owners specialising in areas such as finance, marketing, business development, human resources, management, digital engagement.

Through the generous support of our volunteer mentors we are delighted to be able to offer the program to participants for $440 incl GST.
